We brought a Remember When singing session to Mossview Care Home in Lochgelly, with Kirsty Baird from Hanley and the Baird, her guitar and volunteers from Sing in the City leading everyone in a good old-fashioned singalong.

The session featured familiar music from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, bringing back memories and creating plenty of smiles along the way.

Remember When sessions were designed to be particularly accessible for people experiencing cognitive decline, but they were for anyone who enjoyed the music and memories of those decades.

The people living in care homes were husbands, wives, parents, grandparents, friends and loved ones. Mossview was their home, and everyone deserved the opportunity to enjoy themselves, sing familiar songs and have a good knees-up.

Kirsty donated her time to deliver the session, supported by volunteers who helped make the afternoon possible. Funding and donations to Hanley and the Baird Dreampot helped us support more sessions like this and ensure they could be delivered safely and professionally.

A big thank you went to the team at Mossview for welcoming us, to our volunteers for giving their time, and to Elaine for helping organise the session.

You can support future Dreampot activities at www.HBDreampot.com.
